  1. Why not just use the Flights/Select a Flight menu? Look in Saved Flights.
  2. The major issue importing AFX files into ADE that I've heard about are illegal characters in the radio frequency fields, which sometimes need editing.
  3. From the keyboard you: E 1 2 3 4 in order. This selects all the engines. Some addon panels will not allow this, do it using a default aircraft. Hold down F2 for reverse thrust.

    Fs2004

And you need all of the AI aircraft installed into the Aircraft folder.
  5. If I were starting out as you are I would use ADE - Airport Design Editor. It has most of what you need for FS2004. https://www.scruffyducksoftware.com/downloads Download the current production version, manual, and Prokey (note the registration information). If you are going to use it to place default library objects download the FS9 Thumbnail Pack as well.
  6. Because so many more of use have flown commercial vs being GA pilots (or passengers).
  7. What operating system? Where do you have FS9 installed? Hopefully not into any Program Files folder.
  8. My rule of thumb is to use 888 for flyable aircraft when it does indeed lead to sharper display. For AI and other situations I use DXT.
  9. If it either simply will not start up with no error message or it tells you something about an Administrator you need to install the "patch". https://calclassic.proboards.com/thread/7470/fs2004-start-read
  10. Note that on some computers FS9 requires you to save a flight as default TWICE, one after the other.
  11. You probably have the generators turned off. Load a plane with generator switches and turn them on.
  12. If you want to leave the original airport file in FS, then you need to put YOUR airport file into a higher scenery layer in the Sceney Library than that of the original file. They cannot be placed into the same folder. You can create a new folder (and scenery subfolder) and add that to the Scenery Library, with the folder layer above the original airports'.
  13. Actually FS is smart enough to create mipmaps for many textures when the texture does not contain them. It may slow texture loading a bit, though. If I mipmap AI aircraft textures they display somewhat blurry, while a friend must mipmap his AI aircraft textures or he gets bad glittering - his are not blurry though. Probably depends on the computer/video card in use.
  14. Some shudders at high speed at low altitudes may be unavoidable as terrain textures load.
  15. And the not starting up problem is usually this: https://calclassic.proboards.com/thread/7470/fs2004-start-read
  16. I have gotten blurries from a bad airport texture when I was still far away and the object was not visible on the screen, so perhaps.
  17. Those updates are e very good idea. The way I figure out which texture might be a problem: 1. Park yourself in slew mode just outside the airport, 100 ft or so above the airport. 2. Point yourself away from the airport so it is not in view. 3. If you have blurries now, press Alt-Enter to change display modes, the blurries should disappear (if the problem is at this airport). You can press Alt-Enter again to go back to your preferred mode (I normally do this in windowed mode). 4. Slowly rotate the plane towards the airport, taking close note of when the blurries occur. The object with the bad texture has just entered your view. 5. Once you identify and fix that texture, restart FS to get things back, and repeat the above. 6. Continue until you can slew 360 degrees without the blurries.
  18. Some of his panels have an engine autostart button. Perhaps this one?
  19. If it happens only at certain airports, it may be that you have airport textures that are in DXT format that are smaller than 32 x 32 pixels in any direction. To be sure, I change all textures smaller than 64 x 64 pixels to 256 colors instead. Fixes it for me. BTW, this doesn't happen to everyone, only on certain computers.
  20. To switch from Taxi and Hold to Line Up and Wait, when you Update the Voicepack it gives you the choice of FAA or ICAO - choose ICAO. Hope this helps,

  22. If you have installed a CC package from my web site already, you may be downloading the identical package here - most have *not* been updated before uploading them here. This is an Archive project, to provide a backup for the files in case something happens.
