  2. Instant Brand Recognition by Color. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Like Audio headphones; some swear by Sennheiser, some AudioTechnica, others by Sony. Take Sony's MDR V6 headphones; released in 1985, they were the Gold Standard for Audiophiles and recently discontinued after an almost 40 year run. Excellent sound quality and durability. They were also famous as the headphones "Seaman Jones" (Courtney B. Vance) in the film The Hunt For Red October.
  3. We all suffered from the same issue and arrived at the solution in different ways. The cheapskate in me couldn't justify 'doing the deed' to my Logitech; it just works so well. The old Saitek Cyborg 3D fills the void nicely (zip tie spring compression + a little 'Simian Sponge' to keep everything tight). Older, used Joysticks are a dime a dozen out there provided 2020 recognizes them. Do newer versions of Windows and 2020 recognize Joysticks by Name/Brand or treat them as HID's (Human Interface Devices)?
  4. I own a set of the old Time Life book series The Age of Flight. In the volume entitled The Helicopters it shows a photo of the above autogiro during its flight. Other photos show similar autogiros operating in New York City.
  5. The Multiverses converge, exposing themselves to our realm as do we. Also says something about having multiple Sim installs to frolic in another time, such as Golden Wings.
  6. Mea Culpa... I meant that no one's creating new Rotary Wing goodies for Nine. For example, there doesn't look to be a Bell 505 or Robinson R66 for the FS9 Freeware arena. I doubt we'll see one anytime soon.
  7. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be much interest in creating A/C like this in FS9 anymore... it's still cigar tube centric in our little Sim World.
  8. Redundancy, backup, versatility and in some cases a necessity for Navigation. As Nels said, it's all about your Simming goals and objectives.
  9. FlightSim on an Apple IIc was an exercise in Stop Motion simming. Flip Books moved faster...
  10. Never been run and shown this way, FS9 has! Run and shown this way FS9 never has been! Has FS9 been run and shown this way never! (?)
  11. Pre and Post Flight, but not during. At least since the 80's.
  12. I wish it was a Moulton! Far from it... The Frame Pivot is completely different than the Pivot seen on Nottingham built Raleigh 'Twenty' folding bikes. Those also used 20" wheels instead for 16" wheels. Except for the S/A 3 speed hub and the Headset bearing assembly, everything else utilizes Japanese components (Alloy rims, Alloy cotterless crank, SunTour release levers), which was the main reason I bought the bike... for a whopping $60 USD.
  13. Iin the early 80's I did a self supported bike tour down the West Coast with some mates before getting in the biz. Once there, it captured you like a black hole. 7 years of road racing with 4 years of downhill MTB racing mixed in and all the training that went along with it, plus 3 or 4 Century rides a year. Top it all off with a week in Moab riding the Slickrock and enjoying the Autumn, reflecting on the Season. I rode so much it wore the meniscus out of both knees and required both of my ACL's to be re-positioned; I'm bone on bone now. That's not what has kept me from riding these days; it's the drivers. Our city is a killing field for Cyclists.
  14. They rant, rave and whine every year, and they keep coming back again and again. Yes, I was a Cyclist, and also worked in the biz for 16 years. I guess I still am; I ride to the Grocery store, and I also own a bike with 16" wheels, an old Raleigh 3 speed folder from the late 70's. One of four bikes I still have in the quiver.
  15. From May on the Grand Tours are all the rage, but right now it's Spring Classics time. Paris-Nice, Tour of Lombardy, the Tour of Flanders... all culminating in The Queen of The Classics, L' Enfer Du Nord or Paris-Roubaix.
