  1. No issues on this end either. Updated without a hitch, I am a triple monitor user and have been waiting patiently for this update since day 1. I am happy to say that I have had several trouble-free flights, one of them close to 3 hours long. I still have some minor tweaking to get the monitors where I want them, but what I have seen so far is just short of amazing. I used 3 monitors in FSX (still do actually) for a number of years now and I am really pleased with the first attempt in this new sim. Hal (Spelling corrections)
  2. Thanks for the clarification Larry, I thought I might be off somewhat. Hal
  3. acting99, You will have to press and hold 'R', then press the '+' or '-' key to adjust the rate. Going from memory here, I could be off a bit. Hal
  4. If you haven't got it to work yet, try shutting down the Sim and then restart the computer. This did it for me. Hal
  5. I cannot send you a direct message. I have been around the globe in a Cessna 172 (MSFS 2020) but not quite finished yet of the whole planned trip. You can search my username on YouTube and Twitch to get contact information if you would like some assistance. Hal
  6. Here are my times for loading: To X-Box screen: 33 seconds To Top Gun screen: 58 seconds To main menu window: 2:48 This is my first time actually timing the load. It does not appear to be any different after the last update on my machine anyway. I usually start the sim then go grab a cup of coffee and it is usually ready when I get back. Hal

  8. Steve, this is not fixed yet on my system. Mouse in a undocked window still freezes all control surfaces etc.. Hal
  9. kingnorris, Welcome on board the MSFS flight. I hope you get the enjoyment that I and many other get. Hal
  10. Sorry, I do not delve into that area. Too easy to mess things up when you start messing with the .cfg file in my mind. I find it much easier to just fire up the sim and make the changes I want. But that is just me. I know a little about the FSX config files, but nothing about these. Don't even know where to find them. Don't let me dissuade you from working with them. The more you do the more you learn. Hal
  11. Good day, I have a question here that might be off the track. I have the tail numbers changed ane the Sim ATC uses the number that I have entered as my ID. Question is why are you in the aircraft config at all. I changed mine in the sim and it sticks for that aircraft and livery. Here are the steps that I take: 1) In the world map click on the aircraft top left corner 2) Click liveries (if necessary to select the one you want) 3) Select desired livery (if necessary) 4) Click Customization 5) Change Tail number, Call sign as desired (I leave the flight number blank) 6) Append heavy as desired 7) Show tail number to on. 8) Click close (lower left) That is all there is to it from my perspective. Every time I use that aircraft and livery the info entered here is used. It is retained in the sim. Do this for each of the aircraft you use regularly. Worth a try if you haven't already. Hal
  12. Do you change to the profile and then click 'Apply and Save' Hal
  13. I was talking about 15 to 20 years ago. Not relevant now.
  14. Why in the world would anybody be perplexed by what I do? It is my life, my computer. my eyes. Maybe they should concentrate on what hey do. As for the vastly better experience statement, I will respond and I quote Col Potter from Mash "Horse Hockey" That statement is an opinion and I don't happen to agree with it. Nuf said. Hal
  15. While there are many VR users that are not pushy, I am only negative towards those with the above attitude. I do not want to try VR for a variety of reasons, and I am not required to state them here. They are my reasons. Like I said in a earlier post, I have no problem with VR or those VR users that do not keep telling me I have to try it. Or asking why I don not try it. There are some posters here, VR users, who do not throw it in your face every day. But they will assist anyone using VR to solve problems. They also assist the other members. Please stop telling me, and others, that we have to try it. Or that we are somewhat inferior if we don't Just my opinion of course. Hal
  16. I also have the Thrustmaster T16000, and have had no issues whatsoever. It will be difficult for Microsoft or anybody to fix until the actual problem is determined. I do not think it is the Sim. Hal
  17. I also do not like or use VR, but I am not about to discredit it. It is probably amazing to those that like it and all the power to them, All I ask is that, I don not get told over and over about what I am missing because I choose to look at monitors. Enjoy your sim in the way you get the most out of it. Hal
  18. Good day, I had to do some reinstalling due to a scare with one of my nVME drives. When I was asked to install from the Xbox app, I was given the option to create a desktop shortcut. This option has been missing for quite some time now. I hope it is back to stay. Anyone else notice it yet? Hal
  19. Greetings, Happy to say things are good in the end, but I did receive a big scare when I attempted to install the update. Everything went as normal but I got an error that said "Something went wrong at our end". I closed things out, went into the XBox app to do the update, but when I went to do the update my nVME drive that has all my apps was not showing in the available drives. I use a 1t nVME for all apps and programs. it is separate from the OS nVME drive. Looking in Windows Explorer I could not find my F drive. It seemed to have disappeared. Scared the ****out of me. I rebooted and the same thing, no apps drive. Shut the computer down, removed and reinstalled the drive. Restart the computer and my drive was back. Update then installed with no problems. No Idea what happened, but it has me nervous right now. I have a PCI adapter for a nVME drive and am considering getting another 1t drive and syncing it with my apps drive. Like a complete back at the ready all the time. Hal
  20. I figured it was worth a shot. Hope you get it sorted out soon. Hal
  21. Steve, Have a look at the video in this link to see if it might be your problem. Hal
  22. CaptT, I was able to load FSX & ACC with no problems on a new Win11 machine. Not sure what your error refers to. Not really any help except to say that it will install on a new machine with Win11. Hal
  23. P O Prune, You don't have to believe the post above. I like many millions of others have been running MSFS 2020 on Windows 10 and 11 since it was released. I also run FSX on Win10 and 11 with no problems. Before I got the computer in my signature, long story, I ran MSFS and FSX on a Dell Alienware close to the specs you mention above without any major issues. I would go for 32g memory if you can. Hal
  24. Badger26, The above is your opinion and you are entitled to have it and state it, but there are many millions of Flight simmers (dedicated and casual) that would disagree with much of what you stated above. Let's look at a few things: "It also performed horribly on a laptop that ran FSX with hardly any issues meaning Microsoft needlessly inflated the spec requirements to allow it to run decently on a non gaming PC" This is true of all new software, not just limited to MSFS. I have video editing software that will not run on older computers that used run older editing software. Updates in computer hardware and software will always be improving and are not guaranteed to be backward compatible. "It was as if Microsoft threw everything they knew and learned about FSX out the window and needlessly stared from scratch." Many of the operations from FSX are the same in MSFS. Many things had to be built from the ground up. For example, scenery from satellite images rendered on the fly (new technology), 64 bit code for the new Sim. This is just 2 examples. "programming buttons somehow got even worse." Myself (my opinion) I find the programming pretty easy. Plus you can now have profiles for different aircraft (or types of aircraft) without resorting to 3rd party software. Some people will like the new sim and some people will hate it. This is fine, this is life. There are a great many more people that like the new sim than there are that do not like it. Just for the record, I use both FSX and MSFS on the same computer., I like them both for different reasons. As with any software, game or otherwise, you have to have the hardware to run them. Hal
