  1. You can assign a pause button on and pause button off in controls setup. I was so relieved when I found out that was an option.
  2. Is it just established the load game doesn't work for long hauls? That really stinks, I hope it gets fixed because I love the game otherwise, and hope this gets resolved.
  3. I think most of the problems I encounter now are due to loading saved flights or using "travel to." Looks like sometimes the flight plan gets deleted, the plane will appear pointed in the wrong direction, or atc will have me do something like fly to 13,000 right before the localizer. If I haven't saved a flight, most the problems are me just doing things wrong I think.
  4. Thank you so much for those suggestions, I can't wait to try it out. I've had such a tough time figuring out what is a bug and what I need to learn. I wonder if that will allow me to resume flights without the AP going weird or use to go to/skip to function. Thank you again, I'll report if this fixed everything.
  5. Thank you for the information! Ok so I did start with an IFR high altitude airway, do I need to pre-select an SID and STAR on the map screen before starting the flight for everything to work?
  6. Is there a way to fly an IFR approaches/landings with ATC? I tried twice and IRC ATC waited too long before the descent and didn't really know what to do when I was at like 8,000 ft above the airport. ATC doesn't seem to guide you there with IFR like it did in FSX. Are we supposed to use the ask for vector repeatedly? I'll eventually try saving at a good point and seeing if I can get it down, but loading flights seems to mess up autopilot and without a real pause button this is hard to fix. Really wish we could have a real pause button! Also, I wonder if the altitude problem me not descending fast enough or a glitch. Seemed like I was supposed to get from assigned 38,000 to 2 thousand in about 10 min or so. Any help on this that I can learn how to do or is it just a glitch and I should fly approaches/descents while ignoring ATC?
  7. I was having the same problems. Went on my favorite route...Southern California to Seattle, then to Anchorage, Alaska I did as a kid. Anyway I save it and when I load it the autopilot/GPS is all messed up, pause on the game is crazy, and I cant change the time (or weather) to reflect circumstances. Well I don't know if I can do anything about pause or time. After hours of messing around I found the GPS had reverted to a previous waypoint and most of the settings such as altitude needed to be reconfigured. It took forever to learn how to select the correct waypoint something like flight plan, then direct to on the right side, but it eventually worked. It may have wiped out my IFR and I dont think I could start a new IFR. So I'm frustrated I can't really save long flights, I think a better option is just flying as long as I can go, then using to the "fly to descent" option the next time I play. Hope they fix this. I love the game otherwise, it's a huge improvement!
  8. Thanks everyone! I took as much advice as I could under my budget and went a bit beyond it to ensure I got a good processor and graphics card. Only got 16 GB RAM but hopefully I can upgrade that if I need to. According to Gaming Debate I should be in good shape. Really looking forward to Flight Simulator. Only problem now is I have to go with the Xbox pass version now rather than Deluxe to save money for the processor. Hopefully I can figure out how to get my joystick running. Thanks again everyone!
  9. Hi all, I am about to buy a new laptop and have a decision to make. Should I buy a laptopwith 32 mb of RAM but meets the minimum processor, or one that meets the recommended processor but has 16 mg RAM? Thanks all!
  10. How does this one work. Same computer but it has a TB and 32 megs of RAM.
  11. Thank you for the suggestion. I will be sure to get the version with 512 and maybe an external hard drive. I don't see an option to upgrade to 32 megs of RAM. I'll see if another laptop would have that but I don't think I could keep it in my price range. Do you all think this set up would work with 512 megs of hard drive?
  12. Excellent point, I think MFS would take up about half the hard drive. For about $80 extra I can double the GPS I think. In an ideal world I'd get a desktop but need a laptop anyway so probably don't gave enough cash to buy both. Thank you so much for your post!
  13. Asus TUF Gaming Laptop How do you think this would work? The Game debate website gave the processor a 5, graphics card a 3.5 and RAM a 9.9 for MSFS 2020 and medium to high settings. Overall, gave it a 7.3. I'm not sure I can afford anything over $1000 but don't want to spend a bunch of money on something that will only be decent for a year or so. Any thoughts or feedback would be greatly appreciated!
  14. Hello, I was really looking forward to the release of the new Flight Simulator and converting my Orbx software to it. I wasn't really worried about the minimum requirements because I had 16 GB Ram and an Intel i7 processor. Only to learn after downloading the game that my computer does not meet the requirements. Turns out, my i7 is old and not as fast as current i5s and my graphics card is out of date. I was wondering if you all had any recommendations for computers that will be able to handle the game well and cost under $2,000 and if at all possible under $1,000? Since I have 16 GB of RAM on my current computer, there is a possibility I can just transfer whatever is in the old computer to the new computer I get if it is compatible, or is RAM now out of date since 4 years ago? (Don't know what kind of RAM at the moment) Don't really need long battery life or mobility, mainly want something fast and that isn't going to break down in a year. I looked at some of the other hardware threads, but wanted to start this one as they are particular to my concerns and don't want to end up buying things that seem good but are no longer fast. Thanks all!
