  1. Great history video. Thank you for the time you put in to it!
  2. How old is the Video card? I have a 2060 super in one of my rigs that is only 3 years old. It started giving me overheating issues. I am not sure if this happened to me after a driver update or not though.I took it out and open it it up and found the Thermal paste dried up and the thermal pads brittle. Cleaned with Isopropnol alcohol using cotton swabs and re-appled pads and paste. Point of caution though, the wiring for the fans are short and should be opened gently like a book. I noticed my GPU temps went way down. There are many videos on how to do this on youtube. I hope this helps and good luck.
  3. I really want to embrace MSFS 2020. ......really I do. I have 2 machines that can run it with no problems. Because of work, life etc I don't have the time to jump on the PC and fly somewhere as I used to. Every time I fire up MSFS is installing updatess......86 gig here .....75 gig there there. I have 200MBs internet. The other night I walked away from it and let it do it's "Update". Fired up my 4 Gen I7 8gb Lenovo laptop and fired up FS9 with all the scenery tweaks and it performed flawlessy. I also have Xplane, P3d, FSX and even dabbled with flight gear. Hard drives are relatively cheap and Dual Booting has been around forever. One can fire up whatever OS one wants with very little issues and use the FS/OS of their choice. Get a NAS with rsync and do back-ups of your Hard Drive/OS/FS. Who knows maybe someday I'll be like "Oh no way.....I am sticking with MSFS 2020. MSFS 2035 is still beta" Or Sub-Logic FS-2 on my C64 flying from KISP to KMVY....mid flight Loading.....Loading......Loading... Just my Two-Cents (before taxes)
  4. I run FS9, P3D 4.5 and FS2020. Depending on my mood. I am good.
  5. David how is your Power Supply? I had the same issue back in October on one of my machines, 9th gen I7, 48 gig ram and a radeon 580 8 gig. Drove me nuts. Changed CPU cooler, updated Bios swapped ram and checked temps.....nada. Changed out my Power Supply......Bingo! Just my two cents (before taxes)
  6. After this last update the 36 on my system Landing Gear Lever was wigging out. Stuttering up and down if you will. Weird.
  7. A flight from Long Beach to North Las Vegas this morning in the Beech G36 ATC instructed me to "Climb and maintain FL210". Hmm max ceiling in the G36 is 18,500. My flight plan filed was Low Altitude IFR @ 8000 FT. Switched Flight Following. Nice flight though. Knuckleheadedness!
  8. Roughly a 3 hour flight from KROC to KBKW. Cessna 172. Again on this rig settings were at MED No problems whatsoever. System: I7-9700f AMD RTX-580 8gb 32 GB ram Good to go
  9. I'll give it a go on my second PC that runs MSFS pretty Good on med settings. I'll leave the Big Kahuna alone.
  10. FS9 will be around for quite some time. Stable no nonsense Flight Sim. Boatloads of quality add-ons of all types. FS9 runs just fine on my 4 gen I7 laptop. Now if I could find a foldaway joystick it would be great for traveling.
  11. Win10 20H2 update any thoughts? Shows up in Windows update. I will not update unless it is required by MSFS. Anyone here have any info?
  12. Dual Boot. SSDs are pretty cheap nowadays. One Drive Win 10 and the other Win7 One machine , one monitor. https://www.howtogeek.com/197647/how-to-dual-boot-windows-10-with-windows-7-or-8/
  13. pmrose I as well would like to get it to connect. This guy here got his to work. Doesn't say how but in the beginning he does mention Flight Plan Go doesn't like the new version of Simconnect
  14. New CPU cooler installed. Two hour flight in MSFS and PC didn't shut down. The Old Cheesy CPU fan now in the garbage. All is well
  15. Ok this is weird. My main PC that I use for MSFS was a I7-9700F with a Super GTX2060 and 48 gigs of ram. Worked great. I decided to upgrade the CPU to a I9-9700k. That machine rocks. I bought a new motherboard, 32 GB ram SSD for the I7-9700. Had a AMD RTX-870 8gb card. So i put it together. Loaded MSFS and ran it. Did a pretty dam good job of running it.. After 10 mins or so ...........poof PC shuts down. It did this 3 times before I decided to install X-Plane and Prepar3d 4.5 and see if these caused the same scenario. They did not cause any issues whatsoever. Performed 3 1 hour flights in both I am guessing that the CPU cooler might not be up to the task of MSFS as it seems kind of cheesy. It came off the original I5- 3rd gen Mobo. I ordered a better CPU cooler. We'll see. I have seen on the Inner-Webs that MSFS has caused some PC shutting down.
  16. I ordered a second Saitek throttle quadrant from B and H Photo. They said it was back-ordered and would take 4 weeks. It came in 3 weeks. $59. Could have gotten it on EBay for 3 to 4 times the price quicker. Rather squirrel away that cash for for future Add-ons IMHO.
  17. Thanks for the heads up Kapitan. I'll update my drivers for my 2060 super.
  18. Not I. Uninstalled it and re-installed after doing some PC housekeeping. It's a learning curve no doubt. Having a great time with MSFS 2020. One issue .....my Beloved Dog thinks it is okay to get under the desk and lay on my Rudder Pedals to hang out with me.....8>)
  19. That is way cool. I have a 10" Win 10 Tablet. Going to give this a whirl. Thanks!
  20. Just uninstalled MSFS 2020. Ran fine. Awesome graphics. Not really happy with the Aircraft dynamics outside of the GA. It will get better. 4.5 screams on my MSFS rig. Sliders set all the way down the block....8>)
