  1. Hello, As FS9 and FSX is now getting long in the tooth, now is a good time start reviewing your downloads. The great sites of HJG and CalClassic are up and running but for how long? These sites could shut down as so many before them. Go to CalClassic and HJG and download aircraft from these two superb sites. I hope they stay viable but remeber Posky, Preimier, and Project Airbus have all disappeared. Thank you
  2. Hello, Check out these two files I found in the library. First is the Lockeed Jetstar 1 and coupled with Fraser McKay's panel it is a mighty fine bird to take for a jaunt. HJGL1329.zip - Lockeed Jetstar I jetstar_i_fm.zip -Lockeed Jetstar I panel
  3. Hello, I am using Fraser Mccay's Lockeed L188 Electra panel in a JR Lucariny Lockeed l188 Electra. Is there a way to configure this panel so when FS9 loads the l188 engines are all running instead of using the step by step starting sequence on the checklist. Thank you
  4. Hi all, I think it's time we drop the 2004 from the FS9 title and rename it. How about Flight Simulator Classic or something along these lines. Just a thought.
  5. Hello, Big thank you to Tom Gibson and his CalClassic Archive Project that has been posted here in the FS2004 download section. Many of us have downloaded Toms propliners for years but these new files are very easy to install and have been improved.
  6. On July 29th 2003, FS9 was released. Why do we still use this sim after 19 years? With so many good sims available, FS9 is still very relevant in the community. FS9 users, post your reasons we still get a kick out of this remarkable platform.
  7. I'm going to add Camil Valiquette, thank you for continuing to develop new models for all of us to enjoy.
  8. Im going to make a list of all the developers listed in this post and see what I may have missed over the years.
  9. I forgot Tom Gibson at CalClassic and all the folks at HJG. Outstanding freeware for all of us FS9ers. Thank you guys.
  10. I miss these guys, they always brought excitment to the hobby. Mike Stone- the king of good basic aircraft Milton Shupe- creator of the finest freeware Melvin Raffi- Boeing 777 master Ken Mitchell- his panels are timeless Gary J. Smith- Gary's enthusism was unmatced Opa Marshall- was the Man Finally the Flightsim Developer Awards
  11. Hello, My advice to all FS9 users, download, download, and download. Fill up your hangars just in case FS9 crash lands for the final time. Even though developers seem done with FS9, there is so much on file to keep this old girl alive for sometime to come.
  12. Nice pics, how do you get this plane, is it here at Flightsim for downloading?
  13. Anything CalClassics has is my goto.
  14. Yes boys and girls, MSFS has sucked the life out of the older sims. If you enjoy the older sims, keep using them. I still get a kick out of changing panel configurations or painting the older files. There are plenty of files yet to be discovered in the older sims to keep anybody busy. Flight Sim developers need to earn income, so MSFS is the way to go for them and I have no problem with that. But as long as I can keep my wallet shut, I will continue to enjoy FS9 and FSX.
  15. Hello, If I see an interesting file in search I always copy and paste the developers name back into search. You would be suprised what you can find. Give it a try and find something you may have missed before.
  16. HJG and the CalClassic sites are flight sim treasures. Everybody should take advantage of these two sites.
  17. First, Nels great job moderating. Second in regards to MSFS, i think it is such a quatum leap in flight simulation that some folks are having problems wrapping their heads around it. it is totally different in regards to previous versions when you just had to add new video card or more ram to get up and running. A lot has to be considered before committing to MSFS. Do I spend the bucks on a new PC system, or do I use Xbox and the cloud. Third, developers must go with the flow and that is MSFS and this is good business sense. Be thankful FlightSim retains thousands of files for all platforms for us to download and enjoy no matter what sim you use.
  18. i agree, posted a question a few times and got all types of BS that didn't relate to the initial question. But again there are more helpful answers than negative comments here at Flightsim and they are much appreciated.
  19. Hello, Found this file by Serdar Badoglu. He did a nice creation utilizing Mike Stone's Boeing 737-800. Serdar has painted Mike's Boeing 737-800 in the four FS9 default liveries. Plus there is a sweet panel included. The file is def737800.zip. Mike Stone was always a master of FS9, I miss those days when Mike and many others were creating great free aircraft.
  20. Did some research and found the problem. The answer was at CalClassic, the correct braking cfg. is as follows: toe_brakes_scale=0.39 Contact point 1 the 6th number should be a 1 Contact point 2 the 6th number should be a 2 These two entries were 0 and by changimg them solved the problem. Thank you
  21. Hey Zippy, the Air file has this for brakes, [brakes] toe_brakes_scale=0.17 parking_brake=1 I tried other brake setups from DC6 and DC7 still no brakes for taximg.
  22. Hello, Anybody know how to add differential braking to Jens Kristensen's Douglas C54B -DC4 V2. I have the braking sliders on 50% but still it doesnt brake left or right. Thank you
  23. Thank you Peer, love the look of the Varsity.
