1. HJG APRIL 2024 RELEASES HJG (Historic Jetliners Group) has pleasure announcing its release of another 56 "NEW" and "UPGRADED" files for both FS2004 and FSX. This latest release is entirely composed of textures for the HJG offered B707, B727, B737, BAe 146/ARJ, C-135, DC-9, MD-80, and MD-90 virtual flight line .... this time featuring liveries from Angola, Belgium, Cambodia, Canada, Colombia, France, Indonesia, Malawi, Portugal, Rwanda, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK, the USA, Ukraine, Venezuela, and former Yugoslavia .... for sked/non-sked PAX/air freight, tourist charter, and military service operators covering the 1970's/80's/90's/and present day .... and among which an aeronautical development as well as a scientific research aircraft are also both included .... along with a couple of "concept" aircraft type/livery subjects too that nearly, but ultimately didn't", become a reality due to circumstantial changes within the corporate civil aviation world of the late 1960's and early 2000's. This's a modest sized release by recent HJG standards but one which is non-the-less composed of some interesting, colourful, and historic aircraft subjects .... whilst work continues with the advancing of other projects slotted for 2024 release. For further information concerning these latest HJG offerings refer to the groups following forum announcement ..... "HJG New Files Releases - April 2024" https://tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/10543/files-releases-april-15th-2024 All this .... and a whole lot more is available for "FREE" download from the HJG website located at the following address : HISTORIC JETLINERS GROUP (HJG) https://simviation.com/hjg MRC HJG/Historic Jetliners Group
2. Stuttering with the QW BAe 146 is apparently a known/acknowledged but still unresolved issue as follows (think this's the same product) .... https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/justflight-146-professional-v1-10-xbox-sx-performance-issues/613404/3 https://community.justflight.com/topic/5566/146-v1-10-xboxsx-performance-issues https://community.justflight.com/topic/3334/stutter-with-the-bae-146

4. "HJG OCTOBER & DECEMBER/CHRISTMAS 2023 NEW RELEASES" With this announcement HJG (Historic Jetliners Group) have pleasure announcing both its December/Christmas 2023 release which is this year composed of some 150 "NEW" files .... along with its unannounced (externally) September/October 2023 release that was composed of some 126 "NEW" files .... each for both FS2004 and FSX. 2023's been HJG's "most productive year" since its foundation back in 2000 .... having released a total of some 744 "new" and "upgraded" files, per 6 separate releases, throughout the entirety this year alone. The bulk content of these latest 2 releases are "NEW" texture files for the HJG offered B727's, B737's, DC-9's, DC-10's, L-1011 TRISTAR's, MD-80's/90's .... which accumulatively resemble a colourful flight line of both classic and modern liveries that might otherwise best be described as "a league of nations" (in regard to civil aviation) from all 4 corners of the globe .... among which an abundance of charter and scheduled operators, freight carriers, and military service/transport aircraft are each represented .... featuring classic historic, definitive, hybrid, and celebratory liveries from the 1960's, 70's, 80's, 90's era until relatively recent times. The balance of content included within both of these releases is composed of "NEW" aircraft base packs and sound packs .... 5. Using either the HJG FS2004 native DC-9 panels (plural) or the FSX native KW DC-9 panel (singular) both the flaps and landing gear can only function if the Hydraulics system is "engaged"/selected "ON " otherwise these items "will not work". This is how these simulations are intended/compiled to work. Similar might apply to the PT IL-62 as well but I can't advise in regard to this. In regard to the DC-9 panels the flaps and landing gear functionality in regard to the Hydraulics system is explained within HJG's forum based manual for these simulations. PLEASE NOTE THOUGH: HJG only provides support for the FS2004 native DC-9 panels it offers. It does not/cannot support the FSX native KW DC-9 panels although HJG's although HJG's manual should still be mostly useable with this particular panel too. MRC
6. "HJG's 2ND SUMMERTIME RELEASE - JULY 2023 NEW FILE OFFERINGS". HJG (Historic Jetliners Group) has pleasure announcing its 2nd summertime release. This release is composed of some 30X "NEW" textures for the ARJ/BAe 146, B727, B737, BAC ONE-ELEVEN, DC-9, DC-10, L-1011 TRISTAR, and MD-80/90 virtual flight line currently offered by HJG and for both FS2004 and FSX. Textures subjects included within this particular release represent scheduled PAX/freight and discount/charter operators from Belgium, Canada, Ireland, Luxemburg, Mexico, Sicily, Spain, Surinam, Sweden, the UK, and the USA/Hawaiian Islands .... featuring both past and current definitive as well as hybrid liveries from the late 1960's, the 70's, 80's, and 90's eras, and throughout 2000's and until this present time too .... and among which the transitional liveries of a major UK operator between the late 60's and early 80's for BAC ONE-ELEVEN's, the latest B737-300 SCD acquisition by a prominent Canadian cargo operator, the aviation wing of a major cruise line, one of a dwindling number of B727-200F ADV freighters still operating within the USA today, a DC-9-40 operated by a short-lived Swedish startup carrier around the commencement of this millennium, along with a "concept livery" for what might have become a Russian operated L-1011-1 which might have come to fruition during the early 1970's had international politics not conspired to prevent it doing so. This's another small release by HJG standards but one typically composed of colour, variety .... and above all "HISTORY" too and which is precisely what the "H" in "HJG" stands for. This latest selection of FS2004 and FSX offerings, along with a whole lot more too, is currently and "FREELY" available for download from HJG at the following website address .... 7.
You can easily mix HJG early jets for the late '50s and early '60s along with the CalClassic propliners
Sure can .... and I whole-heartedly agree with "PRROGPHLYER" :) It makes for a great FS experience .... especially if simulating/replicating that late 1950's era when props began giving way to jet engines. In this respect I've always regarded both TGCC and HJG as being a sister sites Tom's scenery is great too .... in fact I used it to create "a period feel" in regard to the following historic flight re-enactment I undertook a few years back .... BOAC London/Johannesburg Route Re-Enactment 1953/4 https://tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/8576/boac-london-johannesburg-route-enactment Only thing I didn't employ though was AI traffic appropriate to the routing flown :( MRC
8. Thanks for the kind sentiments guys. Much appreciated MRC
9. "HJG SUMMER SURPRISES - NEW & UPGRADED FILE RELEASES" HJG (Historic Jetliners Group) has pleasure announcing its "Summertime Surprises" .... this being HJG's 3rd release for the 2023 year. This latest release features some 46X files (a small output by HJG standards but one containing some nice product) and which is composed of new textures for the B727, B737, BAC ONE-ELEVEN, CV990, DC-8, DC-9, DC-10, HS TRIDENT, and MD-80/90 virtual flight line offered by HJG.... as well as the DMFS BAC ONE-ELEVEN, DH COMET, HS TRIDENT, and VICKERS VC10 panels hosted by HJG .... and all of which is intended for both FS2004 and FSX use. Textures subjects featured within this release relate to aircraft and operators from Central America, China, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Ireland, Lebanon, Malta, Macedonia, Mexico, Pakistan, Spain, Switzerland, the UK, along with "the good old US-of-A" too, and Zaire .... covering the mid 1960's through present day period .... and among which both PAX, freight, demonstrator, military, corporate VIP, and fire fighting tanker operators are each represented in both definitive period as well as hybrid liveries. Upgraded files within this release relate the DMFS BAC ONE-ELEVEN, DH COMET, HS TRIDENT, and VC10 panels (hosted by HJG) .... each of which now feature George CARTY's "functional" WX Radar Set .... among all other fixes applied to these simulations by HJG (since 2021) in order to improve their performance and promote "proper FSX portability" whilst not departing from DM's own concept in regard to how he intended these panels to look and function. This latest selection of offerings for FS2004 and FSX, along with a whole lot more too, is all currently and "FREELY" available for download from HJG at the following website address .... 10.
As far as I know the default season ground textures are built into FSX and can only be changed by those who create different ground textures or scenery. "PHROGPHLYER" is absolutely correct.
The seasonal appearance (texture content) of all FS sceneries (that's FS98/2000/2003/2004/and FSX) is always as compiled. It can't be further manipulated to display more than is compiled .... unless the author/s of any scenery choose to or are otherwise persuaded to edit more into what's compiled than is actually first provided. MRC
11. "PHROGPHLYER" .... thanks for going to the trouble of expressing those sentiments. It is "appreciated" :) Get back to us/me on the HJG forum should you need further support .... and I/we'll be glad to try'n help you out MRC
12. Once again and For any FS2004 and FSX users whom may be interested .... "HJG SPRING/MAY 2023 NEW & UPGRADED FILE RELEASES". HJG (Historic Jetliners Group) has pleasure announcing its Spring releases .... these being HJG's 2nd release for the 2023 year. This latest release is composed of some 80X "NEW" and "UPGRADED" textures and 3D-models for the ARJ/BAe 146, B707, B727, B737, BAC ONE-ELEVEN, CV990, DC-8, DC-9, DC-10, MD-80/90 virtual flight line currently offered by HJG and for both FS2004 and FSX. Textures subjects featured within this release relate to aircraft and operators from Africa, Argentina, Australia, Belgium, the Caribbean/Central America (both Honduras and Nicaragua), France (and Corsica), Indonesia, Japan, Spain, the UK and Ireland, and "the good old US-of-A" too .... covering the very early 1960's through present day period .... and among which both PAX, freight, flight testing, and military/government VIP operators are represented .... and which also include upgrades of some 20X classic DC-8 liveries from the 1960's and 70's, an "extremely rare" flight-testing CV990-A from the early 1960's; Some "equally rare" US-operated and hybrid liveried DC-9-10's from the late 1960's; A WHAT IF" B727-200 ADV livery which "very nearly" came into RW existence during the late 1970's; A number of (possibly) almost forgotten US operated BAC ONE-ELEVEN's from the 1980's as well as a number 1960's/70's/80's/and 90's operated UK registered aircraft too (all reconditioned textures); Along with a B737-400C currently operated by a US federal security agency too. And last but by by no means least of all .... The recently re-released HJG DC-8 project has now evolved into "V6.1" and "V6.2" 3D models .... in order to resolve a couple of reported and "EXTREMELY MINOR" animation related issues. All HJG supplied DC-8-10 through -43F 3D models are now "V6.2" offerings .... whilst all HJG supplied DC-8-51 through -73F 3D models remain "V6.1" offerings. This particular reflection of both time and aviation history, for FS, and a whole lot more too, is all currently, and "FREELY", available for download from HJG at the following website address .... 13. In respect of the COMET III, IIIB, IV, IVB, IVC and other DMFS simulation (BAC ONE-ELEVEN, HD TRIDENT, and VC10/C1K) .... since obtaining authorization to hos these simulation (during 2021). HJG have not only reinstated all of DM's original textures, but, have also added many more of it's own too and that were not previously represented .... and is contemplating the release of many more textures in the near future as well. In addition to this .... HJG have since "fixed" all of the known previous issues associated with each the DMFS panels (mostly relating to engine startup and/or APU functionality) and made each properly properly FSX portable whilst retaining their FS2004 functionality too .... and whilst also adding a few more features to each that were never originally included but without altering DM's concept of how he wanted these panels to look and function. Some of the DMFS FDE's have also been further improved by HJG .... and both the TRIDENT and VC10 flight lines have been further slightly expanded as well. On the subject edits for the DMFS panels. HJG is currently outfitting each with a functional WX Radar ..... as is related within the following preview .... https://tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/10308/new-wx-radar-dmfs-panels PLEASE NOTE: The above referenced WX Radar featured panels are still undergoing re-release testing and are not yet publicly available. These are "older simulations" but the way each were originally compiled is "a credit to DM" and one of the factors that have resulted in their FS longevity to date .... and for those whom have elected to retain either FS2004 and/or FSX there's still "a lot of life left in these simulations yet". Within the boundaries of the 2 FS platforms for which these DMFS simulations are intended .... this's a length of string HJG can stretch to considerably greater length MRC
14. One can put'em in P3D .... but .... just be aware certain animations likely won't work and which is why I prefer saying "not compatible".
Any chance that HJG might update it to be compatible in P3D?
I wish it was as easy as that, but, unfortunately it's not ..... for a multitude of reasons ranging from the lack of source data to proprietary rights etc. HJG is, and will remain, an FS2004 and FSX show for the duration of its existence. MRC
15.
HJG and CalClassic are both available for P3D .... .... I too have Cal Classic installed in P3D but did not know that HJG could be adapted to P3D also. Is it a complicated procedure to bring HJG into P3D?
As a representative of HJG I need to say the (some of the) HJG supplied simulations might load into/display with P3D, but, they're actually not fully compatible (some model animations will not work or won't work properly) .... is the only "honest" statement and is what people need to be aware of. There's no resolution for this. HJG simulations were compatible with the very earliest of P3D versions (V1 and V2 I think), but, that compatibility was lost as P3D progressively advanced to later and its current version. I've already had this confirmed by another P3D user whom is a senior ADMIN at another FS service. HJG don't want anyone to be under any false impressions MRC
16. For any FS2004 and FSX users whom may be interested .... "HJG 23rd Anniversary Birthday Mega-Release". HJG (Historic Jetliners Group) has pleasure announcing a mega-release in celebration of its 23rd anniversary/birthday. This's also HJG's first release for the 2023 year. This latest release is composed of some 270 "NEW" and "UPGRADED" textures for the ARJ/BAe 146, B707, B717-200, B720, B727, B737, BAC ONE-ELEVEN, C-135 SERIES, CV990, DC-8, DC-9, DC-10, L-1011 TRISTAR, MD-80/90 virtual flight line currently offered by HJG and for both FS2004 and FSX. If previous HJG's releases have earned a reputation for being reflective of both time and aviation history, then, this latest release must go down in group history as being "a particularly colourful league of nations" in respect of its geographic/regional aircraft content .... featuring some of the greatest as well as least known among the worlds oldest/most classic and newest civil and military operators, supported by liveries ranging from the mid-1960's until to the present day .... among which a number of celebratory and historic hybrid, split identity, and even fictional retro liveries are also included .... along with "A WHOLE LOT MORE ". For further information concerning HJG's latest and 23rd anniversary birthday bash offerings please refer to the following-linked forum announcement .... 17. "JSMR" is correct .... there's an icom (located among the bank of panel icons .... only if one's using the HJG/PROBST B727 panels) which activates the ventral airstaires anuimation og all HJG supplied B727 3D models "GRAEMEB" is correct also .... all details relating to the animations within these 3D models is presented within the following-linked forum based B727 manual (SECTION 1:07) .... https://tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/7819/b727-panels-installation-handling-notes .... or as related below ....
All Door 1 forward fuselage exit folding air stairs, rear fuselage ventral air stairs, and port side forward fuselage main deck cargo door animations (B727-200 SCD subjects only), are controlled per "TAILHOOK, CONCORDE VISOR (EXTEND/RETRACT)", and "WINGFOLD" keyboard commands. These keyboard commands must be "manually assigned" within FS OPTIONS/CONTROLS/ASSIGNMENTS. - SHIFT + E (open/close Door 1L) - SHIFT + "CONCORDE VISOR FULLY EXTEND"/F6 (extend folding air stairs) - SHIFT + "CONCORDE VISOR FULLY RETRACT"/F7 (retract folding air stairs) - SHIFT + "WINGFOLD" commands (open/close ventral air stairs) - SHIFT + "TAILHOOK" commands (open/close port side forward fuselage main deck cargo door on all B727-200 freighter/SCD model subjects only .... and starboard side lower forward fuselage cargo hatch on all B727-100 model subjects) Failure to correctly assign these keyboard commands will result in these animations not functioning. PLEASE NOTE: The "CONCORDE VISOR FULLY EXTEND/RETRACT" keyboard commands (to animate the folding air stairs at Door 1L) are based on "FS2004 assignments. This animation "cannot" work in FSX. The CONCORDE VISOR commands in FSX are based on a different combination of keyboard assignments .... which "are not" compatible with any of these B727-100/-200 3D models. PLEASE NOTE ALSO: All HJG supplied PAX version 3D B727-100 V1.0 models feature opening/animated ventral/rear fuselage air stairs and Door 1L forward fuselage exits but no folding air stairs animations (this is how these models were supplied to HJG). PLEASE NOTE ADDITIONALLY: All HJG supplied freighter/SCD version 3D B727-100 V1.0 models feature opening/animated ventral/rear fuselage air stairs and Door 1L forward fuselage exits but no folding air stairs or port side forward fuselage main deck cargo door animations (again this is how these models were supplied to HJG).
In regard to technical support "for HJG simulations only". Always best to log onto the HJG forum for this .... and where all the related resources are located and more easily accessed by those requiring assistance in as much as those providing it also :) Not easy (sometimes) to provide support on 2, or more/other FS forums .... as queries are often missed. "Just happen to" chance upon this query here today MRC
18. HJG is what it "is" .... and will "remain so". No plans to disappear/close up .... unless it's sponsorship's withdrawn for any reason. Think HJG and CAL CLASSICS may be "the last" of the FS originals by now. HJG's about to hit 23 years of service this year.... and Tom's CAL CLASSICS has been operating even longer. MRC
19. Actually :) .... it was a total of some 106 new and upgraded files that were recently released ;) Some 60 of which are new and/or upgraded textures .... and among which 2 new L-1011 TRISTAR's liveries were also included. The rest of the latest/December (2022) HJG release was composed of new sound packs each for the CV880's and CV990's .... plus further updated/improved DC-8 3D models as well .... https://tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/10234/christmas-website-update-december-2022?page=1&scrollTo=71654 ANYWAY .... Glad to read you've obviously been enjoying what's been provided by the group and which does include representation of a lot of sub-aircraft types too .... all of which is (intentionally) compiled to perform slightly differently (in respect of weight, engine thrust, and aerodynamic influences), so, nothing provided among any of the groups virtual flight line functions entirely the same as something else even among the same aircraft types. MRC
20. I can't offer a solution to your problem, but in total due respect .... sensing your frustration and desperation for a fix, just need to say that "the above attempted remedy is probably the worst thing one could try in attempt to resolve a/any problem. What needs to be remembered is .... there's often an inter-relationship between AIR.FILE data and some panel gauges. Swapping an AIR.FILE like that for one "not" customized for use with the intended simulation will likely impose some dramatic impact upon its panel gauges .... and of a negative nature. Never switch AIR.FILE data between different products for the same simulated aircraft type. 9 times out of 10 times it's simply "not" a good idea. MRC

Mr Anwar Joossab

No problem :) There's 2 types of WV .... 1. Those that are based on what's compiled into the 3D models .... then (in the case of the DC-10's at least) activated per the NUMERIC KEY PAD as I mentioned and illustrated. 2. Those that are dependent on CFG based camera axis data .... and which are what I suspect his preference is. Probably best he consult (in regard to he latter/#2 type) with Nathan at HJG :) The manual I compiled for the HJG hosted DC-10's only refers to the (#2 type) model based WV's I presented, but, not in regard to the other alternative. MRC
22. aerofoto

Mr Anwar Joossab

He shouldn't need to change anything that's supplied .... if he's indeed using the HJG supplied files .... "and only provided he's content with the views presented below". 2 WV's "ONLY" are included within all DC-10's offered by HJG. The WV components (imaged below) are actually part'n'parcel of the 3D models (so it was discovered back in 2015) .... and work automatically "from 2D panel view" (not VC panel view as no VC is provided) on the basis of selecting the following NUMERIC KEY PAD commands 1 = displays training edge WV 3 = displays leading edge WV That's the only WV's featured in what HJG offer (functioning as commanded/described above) and which then appear as follows .... "IF" he's trying to add all-round wing views possibly per per CFG based camera angle data .... THEN .... that's a whole other ball game not supported by HJG. Although not actively supported by HJG (only because of limited past interest) one of the groups members (Nathan) is "an expert" in the compilation of WV data and will probably provide him with assistance, but, he'll need to log onto the HJG forum .... where 99.999% of it's supported is provided. MRC
23. "IF" .... it's of any interest to anyone "HERE" .... Erik INGRAM and myself compiled the following-linked history of DAL DC-9 and MD-80/90 operations .... as a tribute to these aircraft following the withdrawal from service of DAL's last MD-80/80's during 2020 .... https://tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/9964/delta-dc-9-dynasty We also jointly compiled the following-linked history of the AAL MD-80/90's too .... similarly in accordance with their withdrawal from AAL service during 2019 .... https://tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/9532/long-super-80-retirement-tribute Both histories are supported by the HJG offerings among these lines of simulations. MRC
24. "MAD DOG" was the nick name applied to MD-81/82/83/87/88/90 aircraft (later larger, heavier, and more advanced progressions of the original DC-9 design .... following the DC-9-50) from the 1980's .... and at around the same time the McDONNELL-DOUGLAS also dropped the original and historic "DC" civil aircraft designator in favor of their then new "MD" designation. Think (?) FAA references still refer to the MD-81/82/83/87/88/90 as "DC-9-81/82/83/87/88/90" though .... probably because of it's evolution as an amendment to the original FAA DC-9 certificate. Just to digress this "MD" designator slightly: Whilst the MD-80/90 SERIES are commonly referred to as "MAD DOG's" some apparently refer to the MD-11's as being "MIGHTY DOG's" or "MEGA DOGS" :) MRC
25. It's a matter of personal preference and possibly aviation trivia really :) Some debate whether or not the DC-9 should be "DOUGLAS" or "McDONNELL-DOUGLAS" .... I know :) Historically though .... the DC-9 was developed "by DOUGLAS" from 1963 and at around the same time it also sought invitation bids for a merger. By the time the aircraft first flew during February 1965, and was certified by November 1965, with deliveries commenced during December 1965, negotiations in regard to the prospect of a "DOUGLAS merger with McDONNELL" were already well in progress and continued throughout 1966. Once approved the "McDONNELL-DOUGLAS" merger/branding wasn't formalized until April 1967 .... and by which time a significant number of DC-9's had been produced and were already in airline service. HJG designate the DC-9 as being "McDONNELL-DOUGLAS" product though .... simply because that's the most widely respected formal designation for the type. Support for it's DC-9 simulations is offered on both its "DOUGLAS" and "McDONNELL-DOUGLAS" forum pages though simply to cater for either preferences/interpretations :) MRC
