  1. Oh, okay, that makes sense then. So, you get a "lite" version that's permanently installed on your hard drive, and if you're online when playing, you get the HD version? That's actually pretty smart, and allows people to play with good graphics without requiring them to invest so much in their computer that they could have taken flying lessons and bought a small plane with that money! Still, I do think I'll be building a state-of-the-art, competition-worthy PC by next year, I've recently gotten my hands on a great gaming laptop but it remains a laptop, and if things go the way I want them to go, I should be able to get some of this real estate in Greece and spend most of the year there, with enough place for a dedicated playing room with a desktop computer, which beats playing on a laptop on your eating/working/hobby table in a flat.
  2. Glad to hear(read?) that; but then, if that was the real number, who could play that game? Nuclear engineers hacking the supercalculators managing the reactor?
  3. If you're good at deflection shooting (and lucky), it's possible to catch Me-262s in flight, you're not getting ideal firing solutions on them but you can spray them while they fly by. Fortunately enough, they're rather fragile, and even a couple .50 hits will bring them down.
  4. That's what I was going to say, these clouds look too well defined, too clean, while in real life, they're blurrier, as if you were looking at these pictures with your eyes focused on another distance. Still, they're leagues above everything I've seen in a game so far!
  5. I mean, these sorts of altitudes aren't irrealistic, the MiG-25 has climbed up to 120k+ feet and regularily conducted recon missions at ridiculously high altitudes over Israel and Pakistan, so I don't see why we couldn't climb that high.
  6. Looks like my computer will do the trick, and I'll be between the recommended and optimal configs, on top of that! That's a relief, I'd have been quite annoyed if my recently bought computer wouldn't cut it.
  7. I'm not the original author of the question, but I had a similar issue when I downloaded the game and downloading that fixed it.
  8. Glad to see I'm not the only one finally discovering FSX because I could get a decent computer only now! I mean, for the last 14 years, I've either been finishing my studies, working like a donkey to get my then-fiancée and I a decent situation, then dealing with toddlers, the time (and money) they need... and only now could I get the powerful PC I needed to play it (and DCS) to its full extent, and reap the fruit of my labour! I just hope I'll be able to upgrade it (if needed) to play the next Microsoft Flight Simulator...
