  1. My Internet connection is 500Mbs. I had to re-install earlier this week, took about an hour and quarter to download everything. MS was not slowing the D/L. At times I was getting 300Mbs. When the install program decompresses files the Mbs slows to as low as 8Kbs. That Mbs speed is an Average over a couple minutes not actual
  2. In keyboard setting search for "Translate Cockpit" up, Down etc. Make the necessary changes, then Save the settings file with a New Name. I also place a copy in my Windows Documents folder in case I have to Re-Install Flight Simulator (twice so far, lost settings both times)
  3. If you hover over the "knobs" use your mouse wheel to adjust the settings rather than pressing up or down. There are some excellent You Tube videos, go to You Tube and search "flight simulator garmin g1000 autopilot tutorial"
  4. If you go to YouTube search for "flight simulator garmin g1000 autopilot tutorial" there are several excellent tutorials with hints and tips.
  5. I had a similar problem after the latest update with the Cessna GL1000 version. I am now convinced it is the elevator trim. After takeoff and without touching the trim, the white line on the elevator trim was not visible. I suspected my joke control settings so I cleared out several setting then put them back in the same as before except I switched the elevator trim up/down. Saved my settings and now the 172 GL100 flies much better.
  6. Actually, to learn about auto pilot the Cessna 172 G1000 is a great place to start. Also watch Squirrel's You Tube video on using the G1000 autopilot in the 172. He explains the different functions such as FLC and NAV systems.
  7. In the banner across the top of the page, just under the flightsim.com logo, click File Library, then click New Files, then click MSFS, at the bottom of the page click on 2 to go to page 2 scroll down to the MSFS Liveries Megapack. READ the comments on how to install, THEN download the file and follow the directions from the comments.
  8. Go to File Library/New Files/MSFS, it is currently on the second "page", MSFS Liveries Megapack V8
  9. IN MSFS files there is a 2.1gig files with liveries for most aircraft incl C172
  10. Over on the Official Microsoft FS site there is a thread similar to this one. The last note says the update will be available tomorrow 27 August and that updates take place on Thursday(s).
  11. I do not see the update message in Marketplace, it is in Profile/Content Manager. It indicates a 79gig Update is available and the message Relaunch the game to update, but nothing happens on re-launch. I even did a system reboot then re-launch. This is a sad distribution of a product.
  12. Did you assign an action on your joystick to release parking brake? If so try using it. The screen "popup help banners" only list keyboard commands.
  13. I have been working on this all morning and have finally figured out how it works. I assume you have pressed DME and determined how to enter the Airport Id using the knobs. Once you have the ID entered, "push" the knob button so it highlights "ACTIVATE" then press ENT (enter) ONCE. The heading compass should then show the direction to DME and the position of the flight path.
  14. In the Controls section your CH Yoke should be available but not setup. There are several good setup videos. Make sure you setup the Axis X and Y. Not just the X-, X+, Y- and Y+. I also found it helpful, before a flight to move the controls back and forth, fully. If you have the Pro Pedals same things apply, use Axis and "test" them before flight, left, right brakes on/off.
