  1. I’m sorry but we are into the second decade of knowing with an absolute cast iron certainty that f you buy a triple A game on release you are paying to be a beta tester. It isn’t right but like so many things in the world, that’s the way it is.
  2. Nothing works correctly? Then I wonder in what game I’ve recently explored the Med in a variety of aircraft? Probably Star Wars: Squadrons. No, that doesn’t sound right.
  3. I’m a retired guy in his sixties and I approve this message.
  4. It’s kind oF up to manufacturers to update drivers as Saitek have recently done.
  5. Maybe it’s a network problem at their end. Don’t go nuclear quite yet!
  6. I had one or two yesterday for the first time - but that was before the patch.
  7. Hi Set it up anyway, for other craft and for other commands as you need them. It woks for any other controller. Honestly - you really need a joystick and throttle if you don’t have one to play this, or at least a joystick like the t16000 with a built in throttle and twist handle rudder and 4 sets of three buttons on the base that you can use for selecting and changing the heading and vertical speed indicators. The way I have mine set up is to have things
  8. Hi Mine worked fine right out the box but now that the Sensitivity config is fixed, check that. And make sure you have installed the latest drivers. Maybe uninstall the device and reinstall. Also check you haven’t also got the throttle on the joystick also set up. They might conflict. Hope you get it fixed.
  9. Yea but these aren’t constructive criticism - they are just rants against a game people have not actually played and a game people have confected in their heads rom cherry picking other rants or the problems a minority say they are experiencing. And this confected game is one that bear little or no resemblance to the one the rest of us are enjoying to various extents. Today I took off from a short runway in Cyprus in a Cubcraft. Swapped to a Daher and flew autopilot to Bierut abd down the coast to Tel Aviv. Then I switched to a Cessna and flew over Temple Mount before switching back to the Daher and flying down the Gaza Strip, across the Sinai and landing at Cairo International. Every inch of the route looked awesome and the autopilot didn’t kill me once. On top of that there was a new, extensive patCh and a huge Japan upgrade. All this in a game that has not been out two months. Look, if people get more from other flight sims then that’s fine. Play them. I’m not in those forums berating them for looking crap and not having the entire world to fly over for just £60. I’m enjoying this one. And this one is what it is - and what it is not is the nightmare a minority are inventing by cutting and pasting snippets from posts by people having specific issues. As Triple A releases go, this one has gone pretty well. There’s no indication that it will die in a year. Third party developers are flocking to make money from it and the developers are demonstrating an ongoing commitment.
  10. Can I assume all this drama means the rest if us are going to be left alone to enjoy and constructively discuss the game from now on? Yea. I thought not.
  11. I rushed in because I wanted to get bak into flight sims and I knew from reviewers I trust that it would meet my expectations for a first release. And it has exceeded them. I can think of many initial releases of Triple A games that have been way, way worse than this. One or two that probably merited the term “scam”. Sure, MFS is flawed, but I’ve got 150 hours of enjoyment from it so far. My only regret is I didn’t buy the deluxe version.
  12. Absolutely. It’s a shame that the games industry as a whole treats customers as paying beta testers but like you I’m thoroughly enjoying VFR GA and to call this a scam is ridiculous hyperbole.
  13. Don’t know anything about motherboards but there should be one that does. Depends on whether it takes a full or half size card. I mentioned the 2080 just because it’s top of the range but about to be replaced by a new generation and might come down in price. I’m no expert though. Others here are. You will need something better than a budget card to get this game going well unfortunately. You should expect to pay a couple of hundred at least.
  14. The AP is still a bit borked. You need to make sure that you have no active Heading or Altitude Holds because even though the AP is off it will sometimes still try to implement them anyway.
  15. Like I said - pay £1 for a month of game pass and try it yourself.
  16. Got to agree. A serious new graphics card is a must. Wait a few weeks and see what the 2080’s come down to. Plus you need to dedicate the SSD to just Windows and MFS. Meanwhile pay £1 for the introduction Game Pass month offer and install MFS and see what the performance is like with your existing system. Note that the Game Pass cost will go up to a tenner despite the promised £5 per month cost.
  17. Only in the sense that at least one different overlay is applied. I cannot be definite but reviews say there’s only Winter, defined by a snow overlay. Trees don’t lose their leaves or any of that sot of seasonal thing.
  18. Where has this thing been all my simming life! https://simracing4u.myonline.store/a-60176166/usb-button-boxes-for-sim-racing-and-flight-simulators/pc-usb-button-box-27-function-metallic-back-lit-green-for-flight-simulators-and-sim-racing/#description I’m not connected to this company other than as a customer - just letting other people know there’s an easy way to add a lot of buttons and knobs to your control set up. I wish someone had told me about these gadgets a long time ago. :)
  19. I will try that but I don’t touch the keyboard. It very much feels to me that there are logic states that lead to it having a breakdown. And sometimes it just operates on these when switched off. But certainly worth a shot. It can’t hurt.
