  1. I don't disagree at all but it all comes back to your budget at the end of the day and where your priorities are. An RTX2080 Super is 60% more than my RTX2070. If its within your budget by all means go for it. I probably game a couple of hours three or four times a week maximum. Maybe a bit more while MSFS202 is fresh and novel. But like all of us, I have other more expensive hobbies and commitments too.
  2. I'm just new back into the sims after many years away. I think your criticism of the auto-control is a little harsh. I havent been able to assess it in detail but I do think that you can just "don't use it". I'll be interested to see what happens as the paid content is developed for it - not just in the graphical prettiness but in the flight models and realism and how that addresses your concerns.
  3. I think that you've got a problem similar to something that is affecting a lot of others with older sticks that don't have a preset. Load up the Controls panel for the joystick. Filter for the command you want to set. Don't use those Axis X L and Axis X R inputs. Use the Axis X I hope that works. (Credit StarlessLion50)
  4. I'm running a 34" Asus 4K (3840 x 2160) Pro-Art monitor on the second highest graphics preset and I cannot complain at the performance I get in MSFS2020 running i7-8700K, NVMe 1 TB, 16GB, 1TB game SSD, and a RTX2070. I wouldn't run Modern Warfare at that resolution but MSFS2020 seems to run pretty sweet. I don't think I could justify the significant extra amount of cash for the better graphics card.
  5. Try this. So play with the filter (I suggest Essentials) to find the control you want to set up. (Thanks StarlessLion50 at MSFS2020 forums)
  6. Hey Eddie Try manually setting these bindings: Thanks StarlessLion50 on the MSFS2020 forums.
  7. I have a MS Sidewinder Precision Pro 2. Make sure the joystick works in Windows. Start> type game controller. Choose the setup usb game controllers and check its working. Load up MSFS2020 and go to the Controls panel. It should show the name of your controller above and to the right of the keyboard and mouse headings and say it has a default profile. There should be a blank middle panel and a picture of a joystick with an exclamation mark on the right panel. Manually configure the bindings. Play with the filter until you find the control you wish to assing a keystroke/joy button etc. I suggest setting filter to "Essentials". Choose the control I'm using Ailerons as the example. There should be two columns on the right. Use the first one. Click and choose the input. Do not use Aileron Left Axis or Aileron Right Axis. Use Aileron Axis. Repeat for the other axises and control bindings. Apply and save.
  8. So it loads the controls screen with the name of the stick at the top but a big blank middle panel? Yeah? You have to configure all bindings manually. So play with the filter (I suggest choosing Essentials first) to find the control command you want. There are two columns on the right where you can enter the input device (keystroke or joy button etc). Use the first one. When you assign the X, Y, and Z axis don't use the (example) Aileron Left and the Aileron Right commands. Use the Aileron X Axis command. I got my Sidewinder Precision Pro2 working this way.
  9. 2. Do you have to set your own bindings? Use the (example) Aileron X Axis input, not the Aileron X Axis Left, or Aileron X Axis Right. I have a MS Sidewinder Precision Pro2
  10. I've solved the issue for me. This is thanks to StarlessLion50 on the MSFS2020 forums. Use the axis binding not the (example) Aileron Left or Aileron Right.
  11. My experience also. I have the Microsoft Sidewinder Precision Pro 2 and it has served me faithfully on and off for decades but it does not work with MSFS2020. The joystick is recognised in Windows 10 and is working properly. MSFS2020 recognises the device and the name it but loads a default blank profile and you have set your own bindings. I have played with the sensitivity and settings but cannot get the stick to control the plane. Its a weird combination of under sensitivity and then over-sensitivity and lag. It takes ages for an input to be recognised then it slaps it to 100% and you're upside down and back to front. Really disappointing especially since it's Microsoft peripheral, OS and game and its not compatible.
