    SCENERY

If you have a backup copy of your previous FS9, you can copy and paste the scenery files manually along with the scenery.cfg entries. Should work for most sceneries except FS DreamTeam and FlightBeam which require their installer.
  2. Google "best freeware for fs9." You will get topics covering sceneries, utilities, aircraft, etc. Most of it will be in the libraries here and at the other top FS sites. Then there is payware, but I would start with the freeware first.
  3. Some caribbean sceneries were developed to work with the Antilles2004 scenery which created new coastlines, mesh, etc and others for the stock scenery. Some also had updates to work with the Antilles2004. You might check to see which version your TVSB was designed for.

If you are using the KBUR2005 scenery by Shez Ansari, it states in the installation to: Open the folder \AI alt and move the file AP916190.bgl contained in the folder to your "FS2004"\Scenery\Namw\Scenery folder. This adjusts the AI altitude in the scenery so that it does not sink. So you might check to see if that was done. Steve
  5. I've only dealt with some terrain anomalies around KSEA created by the particular combination of the two commercial sceneries and mesh that I use. Since you had FZ's KPDX, I thought you might also have FT's KSEA and maybe I could help with ironing out some of the issues involved with those. Yeah, dealing with an airports plateau is another fish, though. The only sollutions I've found was one suggestion of creating sloped flattens with SBuilder , and there is a commercial product, Pilot's FS2004 AFM (airport flattening meshes) that supposively does this for ALL airports in the sim. That looks interesting but I haven't purchased it because I could not find any feedback about how well it really works. If it does what it designed to do, it seems worthwhile. But I still see terrain anomalies having to be dealt with. Wondering if anybody out there has has any experience with AFM or has gone the SBuilder route?
  6. I am using both FT's KSEA and FZ's KPDX. I did not have any problems with KSEA's elevation but had several issues with the terrain around the airport. These issues were basically to the south and southeast of the AP's boundary with some horrific large and deep terrain depressions. I was able to correct these with a couple of flattens using ADE9. What type of elevation problems are you experiencing the the airport, and which scenery are you using? Steve
  7. Why not try from the other direction and simply replace the taxi_bitu texture to something more to your liking? It has its limitations, but at least you can get rid of the pitch black surface. Of course, make a backup of the original in case you want to restore it.
  8. Sorry, I overlooked KCLT in your message. The exclude switch I gave is only for KEWR. These were only used in early sceneries. Later sceneries included exclude files within the scenery folder. In your case for KCLT, I recommend using ADE9 (Airport Design Editor for FS9) to put an exclude rectangle over the terminal area. This does the same thing as exclude files or switches. There are also several exclude programs in the scenery library that will also generate excludes....some create files and others create switches but ADE is the easiest imo, to use.
  9. First, check you scenery.cfg file and locate Imagine Sim's KEWR entry and check that it contains the exclude switch: Exclude=N40 42.50, W74 09.27, N40 40.26, W74 11.58, objects. If not, place this under the listing and check to see if this eliminates the default buildings. If they still exist then use Airport Design Editor and place an exclude rectangle over the area where the buildings are. Also, make sure there is not duplicate AFCADs for the airport. That should eliminate it.
  10. I've had to run it as administrator since Win10, I think, for it to connect.
