  1. I haven't read this whole thread, but what I would personally like to see is better ATC. And I think with AI now being the norm and growing by leaps and bounds that could be a real possibility with future game development. And not just with FS either. Lots of games could benefit from AI. Anyone try ChatGPT? That sucker is awesome! I had it code me a php file and it helped with a Pale Moon browser extension I want to develop. I've been having it create poems for me, too! LOL Yeah, better ATC and I'll buy it. I have yet to buy 2020 and reading the comments I don't think I will any time soon either. Just think, it's now been 20 massive years since FS2004 ACOF. Where does time go? Somewhere with Schrödinger's cat...
  2. I totally need to buy more popcorn at Sams Club. I feel like I'm in the middle of a town hall debate of diatribe nonsense.
  3. Yeah, I heard the V22 was a major problem. Frankly, I'm even surprised to see this as a civilian model. It was already an engineering feat just to get the V22 off the ground! Perhaps design it just like one big quadcopter. No wings or any of that. Now you take a MASSIVE engineering nightmare out of the equation in regards to a VTOL and plane config. aircraft me thinks. Be interesting to see a quadcopter like design for Med-Evac... But, the width would be larger so that would have to be dealt with.
  4. Actually, if you search for the username ("Members") you can click the content box under his profile that shows up. https://forums.flightsim.com/search/?q=DonaldLouisDerwin&quick=1&type=core_members Until authors start connecting their uploads to their accounts this is going to be an issue I think unless the author names auto populate over time. A custom script, add-on or extension to the forum might do that.
  5. It appears the search box above to the right is pretty versatile. You should be able to chose the option "Files" and enter the author's name. But I just searched for a known author of DonaldLouisDerwin and found no files. So this may need to be ironed out.
  6. No post preview ability and no font capability. Perhaps all this will be addressed in time.
  7. PPS: Dark mode doesn't appear to work or it's my browser. Post edit time should be increased. The FS2004 subforum doesn't show up under Discussions.
  8. Well, at least this isn't Bozo Xenforo. I can't stand that forum software. This must be the first time I dealt with Invasion software before so it'll be interesting to see how they coded things. This forum was long overdue for an upgrade. Especially with the vulnerabilities that may have existed with the old forum software. Being a member of many forums for over a decade and how they've all upgraded over time, I always see these posts by people that complain right off the bat. It's just that this software desperately needed to upgrade and I bet the staff now have more security and options at their disposal to make this website even greater. Though, looking at Invison's cost I would have went phpBB myself (that's what I use) if possible since it's free and they do have a vBullletin database convertor. On the other hand, that could be a job and a half and there's no guarantee it won't mess up so you always have to make sure you have backups and test those backups. So, I'm glad there's an upgrade and possible awesome new features . Right now I see I can attach 7z files which is just awesome since 7z offers waaaay better compression. To those that don't like this new forum software, like everything you need to learn it. It's like driving a new car or what ever. Perhaps in time you'll learn to like the new features and become accustomed to the forum and how it works. What I personally don't like is using the email to sign in rather than username. But I suppose that helps cut back on possible shenanigans. Thanks for the much needed update and I like the wealth of emoticons, or as the kids say now-a-days, "emoji." By the way. I'm using the very niche browser Pale Moon and so far it's working fine. PS: No option for YouTube or other video embedding?
  9. HA! There is synchronicity in the universe and I'm proof. This song just came on Spotify. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Department_of_the_Air_Force_Office_of_Special_Investigations
  10. I'm only guessing, but I bet it's due to your current certificate store in Windows...
  11. Just to let everyone know. Do not rely on ping (ICMP) as a way to verify whether a site is up or not. In fact, ICMP was never made for that purpose. The reason is that some servers (probably a good majority) may block an ICMP packet for security reasons like the so-called "ping of death." Checking myself, it looks like the subdomain (aviator) is offline. But digitalthemepark.com is not and is accessible. Extra credit: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ICMP_tunnel
  12. Zero-Point Energy. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zero-point_energy One (1) light year is about 5.8 trillion with a T miles. Times that by 10 billion. Are we really alone? Don't think so.
  13. I concur with turtle neck sweater dude. :D
  14. Oh really? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TV_detector_van LOL
  15. Flying cars should be a reality, but anti-gravity is kinda Top Secret for reasons you simply won't be able to understand. There's anti-gravity and something else I can't remember. It's all possible or has been done. If it were to be public domain the power of this technology will be beyond your wildest imagination. Self-powered electronics, computers, houses, you name it. Now no more population control. Well, not exactly. You can even use the technology for a force field. Yes, like in the movies a full on force field. You can keep people in or out... It's dangerous stuff... So there you have it. Us chimps ruin everything because it'll take a special idiot... One reason why there are archeological secrets in museum basements and whatnot. "My god is better than your god, etc." Oh really? *pulls out evidence to the contrary.*
  16. Is MSFS installed via Steam? Then use Steam Library Manager to migrate your MSFS install to a folder on D. https://github.com/RevoLand/Steam-Library-Manager I forgot how this is done, but I think you have to go into Steam and change the install path setting for the game/s. I have done this once with a game in Steam using that program. Paid for add-ons may be an issue however. Those would have to be reinstalled. It's due to their registry keys.
  17. Seamonkey or... https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/netscape_navigator_for_windows.html https://connect.netscape.com/ BTW- Comodo is probably pulling your telemetry... Well, a lot of mainstream browsers now-a-days do. Avast saving you? No.
  18. HA! Just saw this thread. I think what happened for you is the Y2B (Year 2 Browser. Like Y2K?) issue some talked about. In a nutshell, a browser has something called an useragent (UA). ALL websites see this bit of code that may look like this: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:108.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/108.0 What I think happened was that what ever website you connected to choked on the 100 part. The version. It thinks it's 1. This issue should be fixed for those websites that didn't parse the UA correctly. Not sure if this website was one of them. It could since this is a really old version of vBulletin. https://useragentstring.com/ Tip: I don't recommend using the browser for password storage. Many do, but a CVE could come out that jacks it. And I can demonstrate how to do that with various tools. So at this time I recommend Keepass if you're tech savvy or Bitwarden if you're not too tech savvy. So far Bitwarden is pretty decent, but I do have some minor reservations that may be nothing at all. But compared to the other crop of crap password managers, Bitwarden reigns supreme in my book. I use both Keepass, Keepass2Android and Bitwarden. I also use Aegis for 2FA and there's the 2FA plug-in for Keepass called KeepassOTP. Even Keepass2Andoid has 2FA ability, but it's not very intuitive. 2FA is a second layer authentication. It's a base32 based number that's based on time. Typically 30 seconds. Anyways... Edit- Bitwarden is cross platform all over hell and back. Even via their website you can access your passwords. Just remember one long complicated password. That's it. https://bitwarden.com/download/
  19. Well, from someone that thinks their co-pilot's name is Sid and is a star I reckon that'd be true. :D
  20. Samsung's Magician and Data Migration software should help you on this. https://semiconductor.samsung.com/consumer-storage/support/tools/ And just to let you know, damn near if not all SSD or NVMe manufacturers know customers face this issue so they all offer some type of data migration or cloning software like Magician. Crucial has theirs as well. You can go third-party. Many use Macrium Reflect or what ever. I don't think you wanna know what I use. LOL
  21. I remember when I remember, I remember when I lost my mind There was something so pleasant about that place Even your emotions have an echo in so much space And when you're out there without care Yeah, I was out of touch But it wasn't because I didn't know enough I just knew too much... I especially like this version. I hate to admit it, but the song has a certain meaning for me. For one, it came out at the same time I had to go to a mental health hospital. And two, it's like the story of my freaking life. I had aspirations to fly for FedEx or UPS (didn't want to deal with passengers). Not now... not with the current FAR.
  22. Thank you. Just make it Aa-ron without the last name please.
  23. Does one change their name in their About Me page? Is this not an editable Pref.? I'd like to change it to Aa-ron. :pilot: (NSFW)
  24. I'll chime in here, even though it's an old thread because the Info. may help someone. First and foremost. Anti-virus software now-a-days is bloated crap. It's a MiTM (Man In The Middle) between you and their servers analyzing all the websites and whatnot going through your NIC (Netowrk Interface Card). It has to because damn near everything today uses TLS encrypted connections. How else can the anti-virus product detect malicious behavior? Anyway, anti-virus software has gotten so bloated today that one packed a crypto miner to mine for crypto on your PC at your CPU's and power bill's expense. Could have been Kaspersky. Not only that, but just for the heck of it, go to https://speed.cloudflare.com before and after you have the anti-virus product installed. It can and WILL monkey with your TCP/IP stack... So, I stopped using anti-virus software circa 2016 and now use a free and open source program called Sandboxie classic for my browser's to mitigate malicious code execution at the browser level from hopping on over to the operating system. I also block known malware domains via the uBlock Origin browser add-on and at the DNS level. You can do that with Pi-Hole and other things... Then each and every single download (sometimes images) I scan at VirusTotal. Read here on what I said about that. I can tell you I have never been infected that I know of unless it's some triple letter agency. LOL But, if you want that feel good approach, then by all means use anti-virus, over-bloated code creep software. You CAN browse the Internet without it. Trust me (Or don't. I don't care). Remember 1:1 full disk clones should also be part of your anti-virus strategy.
