GO AROUND.

This game has been around long enough that somebody, by now, must have compiled a list of causes and effects. "if you do this, then it will cause the program to teach you a lesson."

For the 18,675th time: MSFS IS NOT A GAME. It was designed as a serious flight simulation program, and still is, as far as I'm concerned. If some people choose to treat it as a game, fine. You can do that with any activity, even real flight, I suppose (but I don't want to be on that plane!)

Let those that wish to `play` do whatever they want.

I will NEVER regard FSX as a `game` - and I still don't with P3D.

It's a game or a Sim depending on what you're doing with it. If you're flying in a mundane default aircraft and not following real procedures, then it's just a game. But if you have a full fledged simulated aircraft like something from PMDG, follow SID and STARs, etc, then it's a Sim.

I’ve always pondered over the terminology and I really think it needs to be re-ramped in light of exactly what you say. When you search the internet you will find the full range of descriptors. Game, simulator, flight simulator game, flight simulator, simulation video game etc. Clearly, if aviation flight schools use the program as a teaching tool with FAA approval, it is clearly not a game. On the other hand, Microsoft Flight Simulator is being published by Xbox Game Studios for Game Pass subscribers.

The 'high score' can be found on the Pilot Records screen in the main menu.

As CRJ says, FS can be both a game and a sim - if you search the net for simulator, most sites list flight sims in this order:

PC - Games - Simulation - Flight Simulator

Tim Wright "The older I get, the better I was..."

Xbox Series X, Asus Prime H510M-K, Intel Core i5-11400F 4.40GHz, 16Gb DDR4 3200, 2TB WD Black NVME SSD, 1TB Samsung SATA SSD

NVidia RTX3060 Ti 8Gb, Logitech Flight Yoke System, CH Pro Pedals, Acer K272HL 27", Windows 11 Home x64

FSX Secrets document. I know, it's not what you are looking for but still, I guess you could call this a FSX secret document. Simtour FSX

Been using this site for years. Use it for mapping my around the world tour ! Very cool !

Volcanoe erupting in Hawaii. Change the time to a night of year 1983. Takeoff from Hilo Intl airport (PHTO), climb and maintain 5000 ft, and fly heading 204 for 23 nm. Return to PHTO on VOR 116.90.

FSX. As of now I have 3 laptops all utilizing & linked to FSX, 1 - 32" TV for Gages, 40" TV for Main View. Saitek Pro Flight Control System. Am building a new rig and flight deck. Most likely going to X-Plane 11 for Sim. Also might buy MFS2020 for the pretty Pictures.
